7 (who?)
Today held my heartbeat
against my chest
and told me it was mine.

I wept.

I didn’t want to believe it.

I wanted to believe
I was infinitely finite,
that I wasn’t here at all.

But the earth whispered,
shifted under my feet.

The sky split open,
and I felt the sun,
the cold air.

Today took my breathing,
the wind blew it in my face,
and told me I existed.

I stopped.

Stopped walking,
stopped speaking,

And froze solid to the ground.

I swallowed my voice,
it hurt me inside,
and became a pearl.

The earth grew dark and cold.

I listened to the darkness
of my shadow.

My forever-shadow,
waiting behind closed lips,
locked teeth.

I heard it.

There you go.
Now you’re not existing
at all.

I smiled.
Not sure what to make of this one.

Comments would be appreciated.

Let's talk about this one. Should I be coming away from this piece feeling a sense of hope? It's hard not to, with so much beauty amidst the pain. The pearl metaphor is wonderful--I'm wearing pearls today for a job interview and have been thinking about incorporating them into a poem somehow, because they start out as a painful irritant and become something beautiful later on. Again, your figurative language is absolutely stunning.

There's a little bit of hope there, but it's mostly darkness (at least for me). There's beauty to the pearl metaphor, it was a particular favorite of mine. I'm glad you liked it!

I don't know how you manage to say these things that I can relate to.
Thank you. I'm not sure how they come to be, but they do. And I guess I'm grateful for that.

Wow. I get it, and I like it.

This is rather beautiful...
I know you've asked for comments, but I don't think it needs anything to be made of it; it just is. It rejects any finite meaning and becomes infinite, why also rejecting the infinite and becoming finite: 'Infinitely finite'. I like it :)
If you really wanted to nail it down though you could be talking about struggles with existentialism

In any case, I'm glad I took the time to read it, thankyou for the pleasure :)
